Used to it..

He never realised it.
It had become a habit – slanting towards the left as he would stand anywhere.
He was an optimist. When people, random strangers laughed at him, he thought they were looking through him, giggling at a beggar’s bulging teeth. or maybe the chai-wala oft-scratched groin. This is where he stood out, not in his office toilet.
Thats where almost everyone looked alike – standing tall, but slanting towards the left. Almost everyone. The red dryer made it difficult for people to pee maintaining an upright posture. It would throw back a little too much.
None of them realised it. And our guy remained an optimist.
